MX-Academy’s motorcycle safety training takes place off-road: step by step, motorcyclists learn the right riding techniques on loose ground – for adventure bikes such as the Honda Africa Twin, KTM Adventure, BMW GS, Triumph Tiger, Yamaha Ténéré or Suzuki V-Strom. A valid motorcycle licence is required.
What is trained
Standing riding position, where to look, controlling lean angles, climbs and descents, braking technique on loose ground, counter-steering and how to act in emergencies. Riding in mud and on wet ground is part of the training.
Which motorbike
After the theory, the practical exercises start on an MX-Academy motocross bike. Theory and practice can be transferred directly to your own Africa Twin, BMW GS, KTM Adventure, Ténéré, Multistrada Enduro or other adventure bike. If you bring your adventure bike, choose the course day with your own motorbike; if you do not have one, you get a motocross bike from the MX-Academy fleet in the complete package.

The courses suit every level – everyone is challenged individually, but not overwhelmed. The training is explicitly open to women too; smaller bikes and suitable protective gear are available.

The amount is credited when booking a course. A more expensive course can also be booked; the difference is paid when booking. The PDF carries the design of this voucher.
How the course day works
- Registration and welcome on site.
- Theory and putting on the gear – in the complete package, the protective gear is fitted and the rental motorbike assigned.
- Split into groups by riding ability: everyone is challenged, but nobody is overwhelmed.
- Practice on the track with individual coaching by professional trainers.
All courses take place at the MX-Academy motocross grounds in Schlatt TG, around 30 minutes from Zurich. There are 4 different tracks on site, including a separate kids track – every group rides on its own track. Please bring long trousers, sturdy shoes and a change of clothes for after the course; everything else is fitted on site.

The PDF voucher carries the “Motorcycle safety training – for motorcyclists” design with a matching photo. On request, an occasion design is added: “Happy birthday!” or “Merry Christmas!”.
Validity, delivery and redemption
Delivery: as a PDF by email, immediately after payment – to print or forward · no shipping costs
Validity: 2 years from the date of purchase, the expiry date is printed on the voucher

Authenticity: check code and QR code on the voucher – the check page shows the number, value, validity and whether it has already been redeemed
Questions and answers
Do I need a motorcycle licence?
Yes. A valid motorcycle licence is required for the motorcycle safety training.
Which motorbikes are suitable?
All adventure bikes and allroad motorcycles with a 21-inch front wheel or knobby tyres.
Can I take part without my own motorbike?
Yes. In the complete package you get a motocross bike from the MX-Academy fleet; complete protective gear is available from kids sizes up to XXL.
How long does the training last?
6–8 hours including registration, theory, putting on the gear, practice on the track and individual coaching. Riding time incl. breaks is 3.5 hours (Wednesday) or 4 hours (Saturday).
Does the training also take place in the wet?
Yes. Riding in mud and on wet ground is part of the training.
How is the voucher redeemed?
Online at www.mx-academy.ch: when registering in the event calendar, choose the course and enter the voucher number.
How long is the voucher valid?
Two years from the date of purchase. The expiry date is printed on the voucher.
