Try motocross riding for yourself: with this motocross gift voucher you give a course at MX-Academy in Schlatt TG – for beginners with no experience as well as for experienced riders. No licence and no gear of your own are needed: the motocross taster course and the complete packages include a Honda rental bike, complete protective gear and coaching by professional trainers.
Most riders at MX-Academy are beginners – and most of them have the motocross bike well under control in less than a day.
What you learn on the course
Pulling away, accelerating, shifting, braking, steering, cornering, seating position and where to look – in the complete package, with more riding time and depending on progress, also bumps, jumps and braking technique off-road. On request, the taster hour can be extended to a full course day for a surcharge.

The amount is credited when booking a course. A more expensive course can also be booked; the difference is paid when booking. The PDF carries the design of this voucher.
How the course day works
- Welcome on site, a short safety briefing and theory on the basics of motocross.
- The complete protective gear is fitted: helmet, goggles, chest protector, knee protectors, boots and gloves.
- You get a Honda CRF in the right size.
- First attempts in the separate learning zone: pulling away, accelerating, shifting, braking, steering – at your own pace.
- On to the motocross track: the coach rides ahead, shows the lines and corrects your seating position and where you look.
All courses take place at the MX-Academy motocross grounds in Schlatt TG, around 30 minutes from Zurich. There are 4 different tracks on site, including a separate kids track – every group rides on its own track. Please bring long trousers, sturdy shoes and a change of clothes for after the course; everything else is fitted on site.

Validity, delivery and redemption

Questions and answers
Do you need experience or a licence?
No. Motocross is permitted as a sport on private grounds, so no licence is needed. Neither experience nor your own gear is required.
How old do you have to be?
The youngest participants are around 4 years old, the oldest so far 74. There is no upper age limit.
How long does the course last?
The taster course offers 1 hour of riding time incl. breaks and only takes place every second Wednesday; registration, theory and putting on the gear come on top. The complete packages last 6–8 hours, with 3.5 hours (Wednesday) or 4 hours (Saturday) of riding time incl. breaks.
Can the taster hour be extended?
Yes. On request, the taster hour can be extended to a full course day for a surcharge.
What happens in bad weather?
In light rain, riding goes ahead as normal – motocross works in the mud too. In very bad weather, an alternative date is arranged.
How is the voucher redeemed?
Online at www.mx-academy.ch: when registering in the event calendar, choose the course and enter the voucher number.
How long is the voucher valid?
Two years from the date of purchase. The expiry date is printed on the voucher.
