Youth motocross starts where kids motocross ends: when the CRF110F or the CRF125F becomes too small. For teenagers, the CRF125F Big Wheel, the CRF150R, the CRF250F and the CRF250R come into question. The entry-level motocross bike for teenagers: a water-cooled four-stroke with 149.7 cc and Unicam four-valve head, as the standard version with 17- and 14-inch wheels and as the CRF150R Expert with 19 and 16 inches for taller riders (Honda USA data, model year 2026). The off-road bike for beginners and leisure riders: an air-cooled 250 cc single-cylinder four-stroke with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel, built for friendly power rather than lap times (Honda USA data, model year 2025). From kids motocross to youth motocross – moving up
The right moment depends not on the birthday but on height and skill: when the knees sit high and kids motocross is mastered safely, it is time for more. The CRF125F Big Wheel is the gentle intermediate step with larger wheels, the CRF150R the classic entry into the competition class, the Honda CRF250R the goal for advanced riders.

At the MX-Academy children ride from 4 years – teenagers in their own groups with matching bikes and experienced coaches. Training takes place on four different tracks. More under teen motocross Switzerland.
